Arrival and location
In Pedregalejo, the eastern district of the city, an old fishing neighborhood.
About 5 kilometers from the historic center, perfect for enjoying one of the most beautiful and peaceful areas of the city, just 15 minutes away by bus and with all services nearby. It’s an enviable location — beach, seafront promenade, parks, beach bars, restaurants and all kinds of shops just steps away.
It’s a highly sought-after area for its food and beaches; in summer it’s a delight to stroll along the seafront promenade and watch the «espetos de sardinas» (skewered sardines) being grilled the traditional way. Location: 36°43′26″ N 4°22′20″ O
There are two main ways to get to Hostal Moscatel:
- Private transfer (recommended)
This is the most comfortable and fastest option. You avoid waiting, arrive directly at the hostel, and have assistance available even if you arrive outside normal reception hours. With this option you’re booking peace of mind.

You can get here using public transport with a transfer in Málaga city center.

With your flight number we can track it and adjust the pickup time. Once the plane lands, the driver will wait for 45 minutes. After 45 minutes, the driver will leave and the service will no longer be available.
Yes. You can cancel your booking free of charge up to 24 hours before the pickup time.
The price can vary depending on the journey time and may be around 30-35 euros, but keep in mind this is an approximate figure and is subject to normal traffic conditions — it can increase if there’s traffic. That’s why we recommend the option offered by the establishment.
We don’t offer a transfer service from the train or bus stations. However, both stations have an official taxi rank right at the exit, so you can easily take one straight to Hostal Moscatel.

We’re lucky to be located in Pedregalejo, a quiet residential neighborhood where it’s generally easy to find free parking on the streets near Hostal Moscatel. In the afternoon and evening there are usually spaces available fairly easily.
However, as this is one of Málaga’s most popular areas for its beaches and wide range of dining options, in summer and at busier times — such as school pick-up time or weekend lunchtimes — traffic increases and finding parking can take a bit longer.
We don’t have private parking, but our guests don’t usually have trouble parking nearby.
Street parking
If you’d rather park on the street, you can do so on Calle Conde de las Navas or on the streets around the hostel’s block.

Check-in and check-out
We have set in-person reception hours. Standard check-in is from 2:00 PM. If you plan to arrive outside reception hours, don’t worry: we have a self check-in system with codes that we’ll send you before your arrival so you can access the hostel at any time. To receive these instructions, you must have completed online check-in.

No problem at all. We just ask that you let us know your approximate arrival time at least 24 hours in advance so we can have everything ready.

Unfortunately, we don’t offer a late check-out service, as we need to prepare the rooms for the arrival of the next guests.
However, if you’d like, you can leave your luggage at reception after checking out and pick it up later, before leaving the city.

Rooms and special room details
We currently have Single, Economy Double, Standard Double, Twin, Superior Double, Double with hydromassage bathtub, Triple Room, and Superior Double with sofa bed for up to four people.
Our Double Room with Hydromassage Bathtub sleeps 2 people, has a 150 cm double bed and a hydromassage bathtub. It’s one of our most special options for a stay as a couple.
Our Superior Double rooms have an extra-large 180 cm bed. We also have a Superior category with a sofa bed that can sleep up to 4 people.
It depends on how many people you are and what kind of stay you’re looking for.
If you’re traveling alone, our Single Room has everything you need for a comfortable stay. If you’d prefer a bit more space and a bigger bed, for a small extra we recommend choosing the Economy Double Room.
If there are 2 of you and you’ll be staying several days, we definitely recommend the Superior Double Room or the Double Room with Hydromassage Bathtub. Both are approximately 20 m² and offer that extra space that’s especially appreciated on longer stays.
The Superior Double is an exterior room with a spacious 180 cm bed, table and chairs, coffee maker, kettle and MiniCooling.
And if you’re looking for something more special, the Hydromassage Room has a large hydromassage bathtub for two and a 150 cm double bed.

Pets
Yes, we accept pets. Cats or dogs are allowed, with a maximum weight of 10 kg. Of course, they can stay with us as long as they’re calm and don’t get anxious or bark, since our priority is to ensure a restful stay for all guests. We love animals and are happy to welcome them, but we try to keep a peaceful environment so every guest can enjoy their stay. This service must be booked in advance.
Yes, though if you book directly on our website you get a discount — it’s 7 euros (this price may vary, check the website). You can add it when making your booking.
- We only accept pets weighing less than 10 kg. This policy is in place to ensure we can provide a safe and comfortable environment for both our guests and their pets. Only one pet per room is allowed.
- Accepted pet types: We only accept common domestic pets, such as dogs and cats. We do not accept exotic pets, such as reptiles, birds, rodents, wild animals, or any other species not traditionally considered a domestic pet.

Yes. We’re just a few minutes’ walk from Pedregalejo Beach and its seafront promenade. It’s one of Málaga’s best-known beach areas, with small coves and numerous restaurants and beach bars.
Pedregalejo Beach is just a few minutes’ walk from Hostal Moscatel. You can easily walk there and enjoy the beach and the seafront promenade without needing a car.
The closest one is Pedregalejo Beach. You can also easily walk along the coast to the beaches of El Palo, Las Acacias, and Baños del Carmen. It’s a great location for exploring Málaga’s eastern coast.

A former fishing neighborhood, it keeps its seafaring spirit, small coves, and a way of life closely tied to the Mediterranean. But its streets also tell another story: between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Málaga’s upper class chose this seaside area to build their residences and villas, leaving behind a distinctive landscape of traditional houses, gardens and elegant homes.
Walking along the sea you’ll discover the historic Astilleros Nereo shipyard, where the traditional craft of building and restoring wooden boats and jábega fishing boats still survives.
The promenade continues on to the iconic Baños del Carmen, one of the most special spots to take in the Mediterranean. There you’ll find El Balneario, a historic beachfront restaurant recognized as Spain’s Best Beach Bar 2025.

We have set in-person reception hours during which we assist our guests and carry out cleaning tasks; these hours vary depending on the date, and are reduced on national and local public holidays, Christmas, Easter Week, local fairs, long weekends, etc.

Yes. We’d like to let you know that towels are changed every two days and sheets every four days. Our summers tend to be dry, so responsible use of water and resources is essential.
Room cleaning hours are from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM. For your comfort and privacy, we’ll only clean your room when the sign on the door specifically indicates you’d like housekeeping service. Otherwise, we’ll respect your rest and won’t enter the room.
This commitment allows us to keep offering quality services to all visitors to the city — such as beach showers, among others — and ensures that families like ours, who make a living from tourism, can keep our business running. It also helps us protect our environment and keep Málaga sustainable and welcoming for everyone.

We don’t offer a breakfast service at the hostel, but very nearby you’ll find a wide variety of places to have breakfast and start the day discovering the flavors of Málaga.
You can try our traditional tejeringos, the local version of churros; sit down at a neighborhood café and order a good pitufo, our small bread roll topped with olive oil, tomato, ham or other local flavors; or enjoy an authentic mollete de Antequera (soft bread roll).
And if you’d prefer something different, on the seafront promenade you’ll also find cafés with more contemporary and healthy options, where you can have breakfast right by the Mediterranean.
